CSG/ Computer Support Group began in 1991 as a computer supply and accessory company.   In 1995, I developed a pain in the shoulders and numbness in my fingers. The more I worked the more it hurt.  Ignoring it wasn't working. 

What helped was changing to an ergonomic keyboard and adjustable keyboard tray.  This reduced the strain on my shoulders and wrists.  The pain taught me the importance of good ergonomics.  The changes taught me that I didn't have to work in pain.  From that time we have become champions for healthy computer ergonomics.

"Ergonomic" has become the shorthand for devices which help computer users avoid or alleviate pain. What "ergonomics" really means is 'pertaining to the laws or study of work.'. When people ask, "Is it ergonomic?", what they're really asking is will it make me more comfortable, will it help me avoid the aches and pains associated with the modern workplace.

What do we mean when we say we offer ergonomic products?  We are referring to products which help maintain a neutral posture in the user's joint or limb, are the appropriate size, and ,where possible, can be adjusted to accomodate different positions.   

An easy way to understand neutral posture is to examine mouse use.  The standard mouse requires the users to turn their palm down, so that it is parallel to the ground.  Grab your forearm just below the elbow, with your palm perpendicular to the ground; now turn your palm down as if to grip a standard mouse.  Feel the tendons tighten in your forearm?  The tendons are stretched out of their neutral postion.  Now return your palm so that is again perpendicular to the ground, and imagine how much less stressful "mousing" would be in this neutral position.

How do you know when a product is ergonomic?  We help you decide by providing evaluation products to use at your desk.   We work with our customers where they work.  Based on our pre visit interview, we determine what products are likely to fit your needs.  We then visit the worksite and demonstrate how the product facilitates good ergonomics.  When you buy from CSG you already know that it works for you.
